From The Vine
"I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me,
and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit:
for without me ye can do nothing." John 15:5

I was born in a quaint cotton mill town in Southeastern North Carolina, in 1951. There were three children and I, the middle child, was the only girl. Mamma was so wonderful and loving. The love of the Lord radiated from her in every word and in every deed. She came to know the Lord at the age of 11 and lived her whole life above reproach, setting an example admired by everyone. Dad was the one with the dark side. Claiming the same spiritual assets, his life was not the shining example hers was. He was a very abusive man not only to her but to us children also. Sometimes I wondered if we would survive his tangents of rage, but the Lord’s merciful hand was upon us for good.

I felt the need to know God personally at the age of 8 and accepted Him as Savior of my life, hoping that He would be the preserver of my life and my protector in my darkest hours…..He has done, just that, and has been the Captain of my Salvation and my refuge for the most part of my life. I was baptized in the Holy Spirit in 1980 and have stedfastly set my face and heart to seek Him and His divine will for my life.

There was an established, personal relationship with God early in life for me. I felt a "calling" upon my life and have come to know that He has called me out of darkness into His marvelous light to encourage others, to edify members of the body of Christ, to be a prayer intercessor and to pray for the sick. Being a prayer counselor at church has afforded me many opportunities to operate in my calling and I am a willing vessel, desiring to be used up for the glory of God. I also go to the hospitals at various times and pray for the sick. My greatest desire is to be my utmost for the Highest and to be His hand extended to those in need of His touch and intervention in their lives.

I reside in Southeastern North Carolina, with Gregory, my husband of thirty-one years. We have one child in heaven. Greg, is a Christian and has been my best friend, my soul mate and a source of great strength to me. Our greatest desire is to serve the Lord with our whole hearts and to be vessels of honor for Him. He has blessed us with love, joy and peace that passeth all understanding and He has done for us, abundantly above and beyond anything we could ask or think. May the Lord continue to use us in His ministry to edify and exhort His Body of Believers.
