JESUS HOLDS THE KEYS
Donna DavisThe human language cannot describe the greatness and majesty of our God. The human brain cannot imagine His magnitude. The human mouth cannot speak words of thankfulness He is worthy of.
Romans 12:1 says, "I BESEECH you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." So, all I could ever do for Him and my continual praise for Him is only my reasonable service. Does this sound like an unreasonable requirement? Jesus gave His all for us, even to the laying down of His life. Looking at it in this context, the price is very reasonable.
He is the Potter, I am the clay. I can get willing to let Him mold me into what He wants me to be, but, He doesn't need me. I need Him. I have no hopes of becoming a "Vessel of Honor," unless His hands are allowed to shape me and mold me according to His purpose.
Each step I take and even my thoughts are crucial in my relationship with Him. Everything I do, is by my choice. The decision is not mine to be made, yet, He allows it. If I fail, I have only me to blame, for He does not fail. Once I have committed myself to Him, I cannot be "plucked out of his hand."
I am nothing of myself... He is Everything. I am weak in body, soul and spirit... He is Strong. All of my abilities couldn't raise a mole hill, but my faith in Him has the ability to move mountains.
He is worthy of all glory and honor and praise, yet He lifted unworthy me from the mouth of the pit, and from the finality of the grave. Though I have never looked at Him, He saw me before I was in my mother's womb. Isaiah 49:16 says He has me engraved on the palms of His hands.
Out of the weakness of my mouth, I speak foolishness......thru strength and faith in His Words, He spoke creation into existence. Then His WORD was transformed into flesh and JESUS is the WORD that dwelt among men, full of grace and truth.
My reward for total failure and imperfection is pardon and life. His reward for perfection was torture and death. My sickness caused His stripes, my iniquities caused his bruises and my transgressions caused his wounds. His love forgave me for contributing to His death.
My weakness and frailty of body shall take me to my grave. His strength, caused Him to arise, defeating death, hell and the grave. I also will arise one day through His strength.
We have been given many precious promises and provisions and they are detailed in His Word. What small price is required to attain these promises? Pray for forgiveness, confess Him before men and to love...this is the price.
In Revelation 1:18 Jesus says, "I am He that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death."
The keys, that are in His possession, can unlock the doors of death, hell and the grave for any who call on His name, who will repent and turn from their evil ways.
Even I, who am not worthy and being the total fool that I am, know a bargain when I see one.
