"I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me,
and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit:
for without me ye can do nothing." John 15:5

Hi---I'm  Lloyd Purswell---thanks for dropping by.  Most of us have tried  to imagine what the person, they're speaking to on the phone, hear on a voice recording, or in this case writing an article, might look like. As most folks know, the image almost never fits the actual person.

You no longer have to wonder what I look like, but you may well wonder "who I am," that is to say where am I coming from spiritually.  If you aren't acutely curious as to what makes a person click spiritually, you are in for some real surprises down the road.  There are so many out there who call themselves Christians and have a lot of really interesting but truly erroneous things to say.

V.1 "Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, V.2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, V.3 forbidding to marry and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those WHO BELIEVE AND KNOW THE TRUTH.  V.4  For every creature of God is good and nothing to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; V.5 for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer." I Timothy 4:1,5 (New KJV Version
)
The preceding was a short dissertation by the Apostle Paul on apostasy, or "moving away" from the true doctrinal position traditionally taken by Christian believers and teachers.  In fact, one of the earmarks of an apostate teacher is their constant  referral to the fact that we've "believed a lie" at which point they very handily manipulate your mind and the scriptures, letting you in on the real truth.

The second most pronounced distinguishing mark, after the indoctrination is a gentle but effective maneuvering to proselyte victims to their particular cult, rather than  promote Christianity.  Sadly, the proselytes are strongly encouraged to keep busy indoctrinating and recruiting others rather than fulfilling Christ's commission to preach the Gospel to all the world.

In one of my favorite bits of homespun conclusions, Dr. Seuss' famed "Cat In The Hat" determines that sometimes in order to find where something is, you must first find where it isn't.  I would not recommend this as a means of locating sound doctrinal teaching, which is why I went into the above explanation. I believe in the strict promotion of  salvation. ["the Way, the Truth and the Life"---one way---Jesus, the only way to the Father. (John 14:6)]  Then becoming skillful in handling God's word through it's study. "Study to show yourself approved unto God……" (II Timothy 2:15)  and a set aside time of diligent constructive prayer [we need to thank the Lord so much for His trusted servant Paul's instruction to the young evangelist Timothy, there are innumerable  foundational truths found there]   V.1 "Therefore I exhort first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercession, and giving of thanks be made for ALL MEN, V.2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life…"I Timothy 2:1,2

As for my credentials recognized by men; I was officially ordained by a "Full Gospel" organization in 1986, and am duly licensed by the State of Oklahoma. Concerning my real credentials, I was literally pulled from the jaws of death in February 1976, saved and filled with the Holy Spirit in the hospital as soon as I became coherent.  My work for the Lord began there as men and women were saved and the Lord did other great miracles in their lives.  It's been my unique pleasure to minister to those in jails and prisons systems in the states of Texas and Oklahoma, in the coffee houses, missions ministries of Houston and OK City, and other great works for the Lord and His people that he loves so. One of the most memorable was a Christian movie ministry in Pasadena, Texas where I met one of my most unforgettable characters, Pastor (now Dr.) Richard Jennings, who started this most unique church. I lived and pastored at the old movie house that he had turned from a XXXX rated place to a Christian outreach.  I've been doing all I could for Jesus since then as an evangelist.  My sweet little wife, Star "Lil' Red" Purswell and I live in the modest city of Nicoma Park,  twenty minutes east of OKCity, OK. We've been entrusted with "From The Father's Heart" ministries.
