Cindy Hyde

"I'm sorry, you've reached a number that is no longer in service." As I hung the receiver up I began thinking about God's number. We can call Him 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and it will never busy. We don't have to worry about "out of service" messages. Or those annoying messages that say, "Sorry, this number has been temporarily disconnected." And we never get automated directions or answering machines. Thank You Father.

We are given a direct line to the Throne Room of God. It is faster than the most modern DSN or cable connections man has yet to devise. Sure they proclaim, "Fewer busy signals." But why not go for "No busy signals?"

What if God said, "Sorry child, I'm busy. Call back later." Or even worse, "Sorry I can't hear you?" How would you feel? When you need God you need Him right then!

There is one sure way to keep the connection and to keep it static free. Keep a repentant attitude. Be quick to repent when you sin. Be quick to restore yourself to God. Be quick to ask for forgiveness, and be quick to receive it and to forgive yourself.

This way when you pray, you know God will hear and answer you.

Scripture Study on calling God, and the throne room.

God's throne is heaven. Matthew 5:34, "But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:"

Go boldly to the throne for help, mercy and grace. Hebrews 4:16, "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."

You have the right to the throne as a child of God when you overcome. Revelation 3:21, "To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in His throne."

Ask God to hear you: Psalms 4:1, "Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: ...have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer."

Call God often: Psalms 5:3, "My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up."

Ask God to give you a clean heart: Psalms 66:18-20, "If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer. Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me."

Know that God hears you: Proverbs 15:29, "The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous."
