From The Vine
"I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me,
and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit:
for without me ye can do nothing." John 15:5
How To Become Wise
Donna Davis
God, in His infinite wisdom, confounds the minds of men who think they are wise, through small and simple things. Mankind constantly searches for ways to denounce Him, claiming ignorant resolutions to the world's beginning and mans existence. So, much easier, I can believe that God created me, than to think that my ancient forefathers were monkeys. Did the creation of the universe and the world come about because massive gasses caused an explosion which resulted in our solar system, or, did God simply create it with His faith in His words, "LET THERE BE," and it was so?
Rather than believe the actual account of creation, described in detail in Genesis, chapter 1, men have through the ages wasted their time and brain power on idiotic analogies of how things began. The world's wisest scientists must look like babbling fools to God. The most intelligent man in the world, is a fool, without the knowledge of God.
How diligently we search for the fountain of youth, trying desperately to lengthen our days on earth and to look and feel more youthful. Diets, pills, exercise, plastic surgery and creams and lotions, promise to lengthen life and keep us young , yet, after all these efforts we still deteriorate with age and eventually die. God promises "life everlasting," to those who believe. The "Fountain Of Youth," really does exist in the "Living Water." God has provided it for whosoever will, and it is free!
Schools, Colleges and Universities can teach us many things, but there is wisdom that cannot be learned through teachers or professors. This wisdom is not found in Text books or encyclopedias and dictionaries, but it is written in the Word of God.
Proverbs 2:1-5 says, "My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart unto understanding, yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and lifteth up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God."
The BIBLE, a small book containing the WORDS OF GOD, holds the answers to all of life's questions and is a roadmap for the trip to "Eternal Life." A cup of blessing is included to drink of the "Living Water," on your journey, so you will never thirst again.
The most intelligent person in the world, is a fool unless the Word of God has been read and planted in the heart. Knowing the Creator and fearing Him is the beginning of wisdom and following Him and keeping His commandments is how to become wise.
