"God Unleashed the Enemy"
Bip you said, "I thought that God had "unleashed" the enemy upon my life because of my past sins...and sin I had....I guess we all have..."
Yes, Bip, we have all sinned. "For ALL have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23
1 John 1:8-10, "If we say that we have NO SIN, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us."
God does put the punishment of our sins upon our children for up to four generations.
Numbers 14:18, "The LORD is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation." He also puts our righteousness upon our future generations up to 1,000!!! Big difference wouldn't you say?
Deuteronomy 7:9, "Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;"
1 Chronicles 16:15, "Be ye mindful always of his covenant; the word which he commanded to a thousand generations;"
Psalms 105:8, "He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations."
We can break the curses our forefather's disobedience to God's WORD by being blessed by God.
Numbers 22, "...Whom thou blessest is blessed, and he whom thou cursest is cursed."
Deuteronomy 11:26-28, "Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day: And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known." This passage really lights the subject of generational curses...
Deuteronomy 29:17-29, "And ye have seen their abominations, and their idols, wood and stone, silver and gold, which were among them:) Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the LORD our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood; And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst: The LORD will not spare him, but then the anger of the LORD and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven.
And the LORD shall separate him unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the law: So that the generation to come of your children that shall rise up after you, and the stranger that shall come from a far land, shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses which the LORD hath laid upon it; And that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and burning, that it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein, like the overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, which the LORD overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath: Even all nations shall say, Wherefore hath the LORD done thus unto this land? what meaneth the heat of this great anger?
Then men shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt: For they went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods whom they knew not, and whom he had not given unto them: And the anger of the LORD was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this book: And the LORD rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day. The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law."
Ok here's another "nut shell" of transference of spirits for you guys... When we sin we're not the only ones to pay the price for that sin. Ever notice how families with alcoholism transfer that spirit to their offspring. The abusive families, the incestuous families... Etc. These spirits all transfer one to another. Curses transfer from one generation to another until someone finally says, "Enough!" This family is serving God and I repent for the sins of my forefathers. I plead the shed blood of Jesus Christ over my family and all future generations. I SPEAK BLESSINGS and LIFE into this family. This is especially something that the men of the households need to do.
If you're interested in some generational curse prayers my friend Coat has some wonderful ones. Bip has used them, I have and I recommend you speak them out loud when you say them. I could type you up some, but why do that when he covers all the bases?
