Larry Byrd Ministries
Testimony

Larry Byrd gave his life to the Lord when he was just 9 years old at First Baptist Church at Nacogdoches, Texas. During his teenage years he played in the Nacogdoches High School band and at the age of 18 after he graduated from High School, he answered the call to become a full time minister.

After attending some College he joined the Navy. While in the Navy he assisted the Chaplain. In 1970 he went to Tijuana to preach the gospel on invitation from a missionary. They went throughout the streets and the bars and brought people to the mission to hear the new preacher. After Larry preached a simple salvation message every person there stood up and came down front to the altar to receive Jesus as their Savior. This is one of his greatest memories. It was obvious that the hearts of the people had been prepared by God to receive His Son.

After his honorable discharge from the Navy he met and married Pam Bryce in 1973. They met during a revival at the church he was pastoring in Diboll, Texas. It was love at first sight for the both of them. Pam ministered alongside Larry in song and music for many years.

Larry has pastored churches in Diboll, Mt. Pleasant, Hudson, and Lilbert, Texas. He has also pastored churches in Bokohoma, Oklahoma and Greybull, Wyoming. And was the Assistant Pastor at North Oakcliff in Dallas, Texas. In addition he has preached revivals from Texas, Nebraska, Colorado, Oklahoma, to Wyoming.

In 1985 Larry and Pam were involved in what should have been a fatal accident. Both were hospitalized for quite some time. Larry kept feeling something was wrong after being discharged from the hospital. He would have dizzy spells, get weak, and finally after 2 1/2 months he had a spell that everyone thought was a heartattack. He was immediately put in Intensive Care after they discovered a slow leaking spleen. They drained a pint and 9cc of blood from his body at that time. The Lord saved Larry's life when the doctors said he should have died form that. His spleen was removed. The doctors told Larry and his family that with this condition people bleed to death within 2 weeks. The Lord caused a blood clot to slow the blood flow until he could get hope.

He is presently associated with Southside Baptist Church in Lufkin, TX. His ministry still includes evangelical work and outreaches of many kinds. His heart burns for lost souls and has been privileged to lead many souls in the sinners prayer and to see many repent and walk closer to the Lord.

The last church he ministered to was The Remnant Church in Lufkin, TX where souls were stirred to repentance. He is available to come and minister at revivals, tent meetings, churches, crusades, Bible conferences, and home meetings of any size. His motto is "Whether it's 2 or 2,000 it doesn't matter."

His favorite verse is below because he understands better than anyone how discouraged you can get by trying to serve the Lord with all your heart and soul. If you are a pastor and need encouragement please email Larry and he will pray with you. If you are an evangelist don't stop till Jesus comes.
