"April started her prayer ministry over a year and a half ago in January of 1999 and has received over 1,000 prayer requests that she has personally prayed for with as much dedication as I've ever seen. She logs every prayer that she gets and faithfully prays over them until she gets a praise report or a release in her spirit for that need. We send our prayer requests to her knowing that as she receives them she doesn't just pray once but takes on each request as a personal mission from the Lord.
She has received requests from all over the world and we are pleased to add her to The Remnant as one of our prayer ministers. My Testimony!
I accepted the Lord as my Savior in 1995 at the age of 12. While I was attending public schools the kids always picked on me, made rude comments, called me ugly names, and were really mean to me because of acne and my size but the Lord blessed me to be able to love and understand why they were doing it and to forgive them. I felt scared most of the time and cried alot during this time of my life. I loved people so much that it just broke my heart that they would reject me like they did. Jesus would reach down and put my broken heart back together again and help me forgive them. Even though they still picked on me I was able to overcome with the grace and love of Jesus in my heart. I would always witness to them and tell them about Jesus.
In 1997 I began giving my testimony at different churches, revivals, crusades and conferences. Most of the kids from school were at these events because we live in a small town in Texas. Those who had been so mean to me gave their hearts out to me and started hugging me telling me how sorry they were for treating me like they did and that they appreciated me and had never heard a more touching testimony. My heart went out to them even more then. The Lord used this time to restore what the devil had been trying to take away from me.
In 1999 I began my prayer ministry and received prayer requests from all over the world. Currently I am serving Southside Baptist Church in the children's ministry and work with another woman with the 5th and 6th graders. I have always been very active with the youth and have the calling of an evangelist in my heart because I love to tell people about my Jesus.
