Questions & Answers

 What are the Healing Rooms?

Healing Rooms are offices set aside for the use of praying for the sick. They function similar to a Doctor's office.  Clients who need prayer come into the healing room reception area. They are given a Questionnaire and while they fill it out the receptionist advises the Healing Team of the client's arrival. They immediately begin to pray for the client if they are not already praying for someone. The intercessor is ever present and praying for the Team and the client. The client waits in a "soaking room" where the atmosphere has been charged with prayer, praise & worship and where anointed healing music is being played. The Healing Rooms are open to everyone. No one is turned away. They can come and be prayed for as often as they want or need to.

Are the Healing Rooms a fly by night organization?

John G. Lake started The Healing Rooms in Spokane, WA in the late 1800's. Thousands of people were healed by God through them. When he dies no one was around to carry the torch. Rev. Cal Pierce was led of God to move to Spokane and for a year and 3 months prayed at Rev. Lake's grave. The Holy Spirit led him to reopen the Healing Rooms in 1999. He and the intercessors redug the well that Rev. Lake had dug 80 years before. They have been very successful. There are Healing Rooms across the United States and abroad.

The Remnant Healing Rooms of East Texas will be Healing Room 54. The news and the testimonies of the healing power of Jesus Christ is traveling fast. Prophets of renown have prophesied about these very rooms. The Healing Rooms Ministry helps those who feel led to dig a well of healing in our area and follow in John G. Lake's footsteps to provide a place of prayer for the sick in a non-intimidating or non-threatening environment. The International Association of Healing Rooms exists as a covering and a support for all Healing Rooms. The Remnant Healing Rooms is part of the IAHR.

Why can't people just get prayer & healing in a church?

Many people do get healed in church. There are many reasons for establishing the Healing Rooms outside the church. One reason is that majority of the sick do not go to church. Some religious people have a semblance of godliness but deny the power and without the power of the Holy Spirit they are spiritually powerless. Some sick people have been abused and deeply wounded spiritually and emotionally by a church. They would come for prayer at a healing room. Some denominations do not believe in healing.
The church is a great place for receiving healing if you can get the people in the services. Have you heard this?  "Well Jesus and His disciples healed people, raised them from the dead, but that's not for us to do. That's just not for today it was only for them back in the Bible days." How sad they believe this is truth. They do not understand the Word of God concerning this and they err in their thinking and their doctrine. It is our duty to correct wrong thinking, to cast down everything that exalts itself above Christ Jesus. This is what the Healing Rooms are about, replacing error with truth, lies with truth, false doctrines with truth, doctrines of devils with truth. How else can the Holy Spirit increase their faith in God's Word if they don't hear? If they don’t know that Jesus died for them and paid the price for their sins, bore the stripes upon His back for their healing and that God didn't make them sick, that He wants them to be made whole, how can they be reconciled and healed if they just don't know the truth?

How do you know people will be healed when you pray for them?

God can not lie. He said, "I am the God that healeth thee." What more do we need? It is not for us to question why God does or does not heal someone. God's ways are not our ways, and His thought are higher than our thoughts. It is not for us to know. He is in control and we must never doubt Him because He chooses for whatever reason not to heal someone, or allows them to die, or suffer. We must never question but remain faithful and concentrate on those who are healed. We must always remember God has a plan for each of us, a plan to prosper us and not to harm us. If we are faithful to minister the infallible Word of God to those who need it, God is faithful to perform that which He said He would do.

Do you just pray for people who are physically sick?

No, we don't just focus on one area, but pray for the complete person - body, soul & spirit. If a person does not know Jesus as their Savior then we minister salvation to them first, then we minister the Word of God concerning the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. After they have been saved and empowered they receive the Word God concerning God's will for them to be healed, set free from guilt and condemnation, and gloriously deliver them from all oppression, sickness and disease. We ask the Lord Jesus to make them whole. The Word of God says it is God's will for us to walk in health. (3 John 1:2) "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth."

What about people with mental illnesses?

We pray for them to have a sound mind. We pray for their souls to be healed, their emotions, their minds, we ask the Holy Spirit to show us the root or the source of the problem. We walk them through forgiveness, and remove all spiritual roots that may have them bound. Bitterness, anger, unforgiveness, generational curses, sin, worry, depression, fear, anxiety, all these cause problems to our bodies and our emotions. We minister the Word to their problem, help them see what God's Word says about their situation, then minister the Word to them for their healing. This may be a process taking many meetings, but if they commit to praying with us and fighting for their healing, they will see the glory of God manifested.

Are the Healing Rooms a cult? Are they involved in the new age movement?
We must always test the spirits. We must always be very careful who we let lay hands on us. That is one reason why the Healing Rooms have a training period. We are not a cult. We do not have any practices except those which are ordered by the Lord God Himself. We do not teach or change anyone's doctrine, we do not enlist any client in any church or movement, we do not proselyte, and we do not ever tell anyone they are healed, the client is always referred to their medical doctor for verification of healing. We never even tell a patient they are healed. We offer no medical advice. We are not new age, we don't burn incense, cast spells, or speak to mother earth. There are no magical auras about the place. We don't use crystals or magic wands. We do however pray in the Spirit, speak in tongues, prophecy, and operate in the other gifts of the Spirit. We have some anointing oil, some prayer clothes, some praise and worship music, some Bibles, and a great many Scriptures to read on the walls.

Why do you pray for the sick?

We pray for the sick because we are commanded to. We are also commanded to love our neighbors as ourselves. We would want to be prayed for if we were sick wouldn't we? Aren't we to do as Jesus did? Didn't He go around healing all that were sick, casting out devils, etc? What better way to express our love and compassion for our neighbor than to commit to praying for them?

No one would want to watch their child suffering in pain and anguish. Neither does our Heavenly Father want His children suffering. He loves us and wants to rescue us from destruction. He has already proven this to us by giving us His Son. Romans 8 says; "He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all--how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?" (Rom 8:32) As extensions of His heart, we give love and care to others; we want to do all we can to deliver what Jesus has provided through the cross to a needy world. The gifts of the Holy Spirit also include gifts of healings. (1 Cor 12)

Do I have to be a Christian to be prayed for?
No, we pray for Christians and non-Christians alike. We will minister salvation to anyone who is not a Christian. After all that is the first step to healing. We are all called to be ministers of reconciliation.

Is The Remnant Healing Rooms a church or a religion?

We are neither. We are a trans-denominational ministry to the body of Christ and to our community to provide prayer according to the Biblical truths of God's Word found in the King James Version of the Bible. We believe every Word God says is truth and we believe we are to do what it says; Mark 16:17-18, "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." We work with local churches not against them. We have churches that support us, advise us, and under gird us with prayer.

The Directors, Mike & Cindy Hyde are submitted under Pastor Dennis Land of First Assembly of God in Nacogdoches, and to Pastor Marvin Hazel of Church on the Rock in Guthrie, OK.  The Remnant Healing Rooms are established as a ministry to the sick of East Texas.

How much does it cost to go to the Healing Rooms?

There is no charge for us to pray for you. Our ministry is supported by freewill gifts and donations. We function on offerings and the support of the community and local churches. We trust God to provide for all our needs by speaking to those who would sponsor this ministry through both their prayers and gifts. The directors, advisors, ministry team, intercessors or office staff receive no compensation, they have no expense accounts, expenses for travel are their own. There are no financial benefits of any kind for those in the Healing Rooms praying for others. All donations go toward the actual expenses incurred by The Healing Rooms. (e.g. rent, office supplies, oil, printing of materials to promote healing, Bibles, Handouts, Scripture Prescriptions...)

When will the Healing Rooms be open?

We are presently searching for office space and funding. The target date for opening the Healing Rooms is November 2002 as the Lord provides. The office hours are tentatively Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. We plan to include Saturday mornings from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon eventually. Call 936-371-9796 for appointments, emergency prayer needs, or more information.

  Do I need an appointment?

No, you do not need an appointment; however it is helpful to make one to avoid waiting, it will also allow us to begin praying for you prior to your arrival. Priority will always be given to those who can not wait, who are in pain, or who have other emergency situations. Calling ahead of time will allow us to intercede for your needs until you arrive.

How do I become part of the Healing Rooms as a Team Member?

First you must set up an Interview with the Directors of The Remnant Healing Rooms. After approval you must have a Letter of Recommendation from your pastor. (We provide the letter to be filled out which has very specific questions on it.) Thirdly you must attend The Remnant Healing Room Training Course and learn how to minister to the sick. Lastly you must serve as an Intern until the "Hands on Training" is completed. (This step may take a couple weeks to a couple of months. Varies with individuals.)

When and where will the Training be, and how long does it last?

Training will begin Thursday September 5th. The Training Course will be held at the First Assembly of God building and will last until October 24th. Approximately sixty days of training. All team members will be monitored until the Directors are assured that each one is comfortable and qualified in praying for others and operating in the gifts of the Spirit.

What does the training consist of?

There are five training videos by Rev. Cal Pierce which includes, The Healing Word, Roadblocks to Healing, The Anointing that Empowers, Our Spiritual Authority, and Questions and Answers about Operation in Healing Rooms.

There are booklets about the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and how they operate. There are workbooks on Physical Problems and the Spirits behind them, and the Scriptures to pray over the sick.

You will be anointed and prayed for so that you can experience the power of the Holy Spirit's anointing first hand. After the training sessions there will be opportunities to pray for on another while you are in training.

The Word of God will be poured into your spirit to strengthen your faith but above all else you must be rooted and grounded in love. You must have or be working on a sound Biblical Foundation. And you must have a strong desire to pray for others.

   What about transference of spirits?

The Directors and the Board are very discerning and will not allow anyone who is walking in disobedience to the Lord, who has sin in their lives that they refuse to deal with or any other problem to minister at all.  If a Team Member is having marital problems, we set them out for a while and help restore them until such a time as they can pray effectively for others. They can work in the office and work as an intercessor, but it is vital that all ministers who lay hands on the sick have clean hands, a pure heart, and a sound mind. No one is perfect. We are all a work in progress. But there are some things that just can not be tolerated.

For example, and I'm not picking on anyone here, just stating the facts. If you smoke, you have a spirit of addiction, a spirit of habit and a spirit of bondage operating in your life. If you lay hands and pray for the sick you are transferring those spirits to the ones you pray for who are already sick and vulnerable. We must try to remain pure and when we can not we must be quick to repent and be restored. Overindulgence in any area is a sin. Gluttony is a sin. Worrying is a sin. Gossiping is a sin. Coveting. Jealousy. Pride. Shall I go on? We all have issues, the idea is not that we can be perfect, but we can be holy as the Lord says because He is holy. We must be committed to working on those things that buffet us, tempt us, try us and we must always remember to never judge another's walk, we must however; be ever searching for the fruits of the Spirit.

What advice does the Team give to clients?

We do not give advice that is not Scriptural. We do not advise on dietary issues, herbal or natural healing methods, holistic healing, etc. These are all well and good but they will not be shared in healing rooms. We do not advise clients on anything. We are not medical professionals. We are Spirit Filled servants who minister the Word of God to those who need it in the form of prayer, prophecy, words of knowledge, words of wisdom, tongues and interpretations, miracles, healings, faith, and discernment. If we give someone advice that is not based on God's Word through His Spirit we will be held liable and could be sued. We must stick to the Word of God at all times.

The gifts of the Spirit are operation in the healing rooms to edify, encourage, enlighten and equip the client. This builds their faith to receive their healing. We are healed by the stripes that Jesus Christ bore upon His back. He suffered for our iniquities… God is our Healer. Ideally there are three healing team members, (never less than two), and two intercessors, (never less than one) and an office staff on duty during the office hours.
