WHAT IS THE REMNANT CHURCH?

"Can you show me from the Bible how you are the remnant church?"

We were named by GOD, The Remnant Church, but let me first say that we do not believe that we are THE REMNANT church to the exclusion of everyone else. The Remnant Church is symbolic of those who are sanctified, sealed by the HOLY GHOST and "sold out" for Jesus. Those few who are willing to give HIM their all and give up their all for HIM.

We aren't able to identify God's Kingdom on earth (Luke 17:20-21) neither are we able to recognize the true "Remnant Church," that JESUS is coming back for. But there are "fruits" produced by those who are that Remnant. We believe that we are a fruitful churh.

The vision that we have from the LORD and what we believe that HIS will for our church is that we lead the lost to CHRIST, set the captive free, heal the brokenhearted, deliver the captive, heal the diseased, set at liberty them that are bruised, preach the acceptable year of the LORD, preach the gospel (the Good News) to the poor, see the lame walk, the deaf hear, the blind see, and the diseased be made whole. In essence do all that CHRIST did and more. JESUS said, we would do "Greater works" but do you see that in the land today?

"Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world." Those who are about their FATHER's business are the true remnant.

We know that this expression is used by many people in many ways to mean many different things. "The remnant" is spoken of often. It is a representation of the number of those in the earth who actually belong to God, His chosen ones, the elect, who are few in number compared to the actual population of this earth. The Heritage Dictionary defines the word remnant as "Something left over; a remainder, a small surviving group of people, and a surviving trace or vestage."

Before GOD flooded the earth in the days of Noah, GOD repeatedly warned and cautioned and wooed the HIS children to turn from their wickedness. But they turned their backs to HIM instead, prefering the wickedness of the world and the pleasures of the flesh over a relationship with HIM.How it must break HIS heart to let us make that choice. After 120 years of preaching there were only eight people saved (Gen. 6-8). If we knew the population of the earth in Noah's day it would frighten us.

The LORD showe me once about the odds of us making it into heaven. What are your odds? Great? Small? VERY small!!! "Narrow is the gate, and few there are that find it." Noah found it only through his righteousness. Noah was the remnant of righteous people and they walked through that narrow gate!

Israel's rebellion against GOD is recorded throughout history. But through them all, in the background, there remained the faithful few, an almost forgotten, unseen, "remnant" of true believers who were faithful unto death. Isaiah 1:9. When Elijah thought there was no one left that was righteous God let him know that there was a "remnant" of 7000 who had not bowed the knee to Baal, who had remained faithful and had not served foreign gods. (I Kings 19:13-18). Isaiah 46:3, 10:20-22, 56:8, 65:8-10, are also great examples.

In Luke 12:32, JESUS's followers are a "LITTLE flock" to whom it was the FATHER's good pleasure to give the kingdom.

In Luke 13:23, the disciples, realizing the truth, asked Jesus directly, "Lord, are there few that be saved?" Jesus' answer in verses 24-30 makes it rather plain that while MANY will be religious, that is, they will "seek to enter in" they will find themselves shut out as "workers of iniquity." The true entrance to the Kingdom is a "strait," or narrow gate. JESUS is the "WAY."

Matthew 24:36 - 39 "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. 37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be."

We are constantly being warned!!! Maranatha!!! Maranatha!!! The LORD cometh!!! Who is listening? Watch lest you be caught off guard. Keep your focus on JESUS.

See Heb. 9:28 where we are told that CHRIST is coming for "them that look for him."

Read I Thess. 5:3-4 where Paul contrasts the dark world, unprepared for the sudden destruction, with "brethren," the remnant of people - having light and being prepared.

Rom. 11:5: "Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace."

By grace we are all saved!

GOD Loves YOU!
